easy sunday ride

Bike Rack, originally uploaded by brothersterno.

The next BIKE GANG will be SUNDAY MARCH 18th AT HIGH NOON.

Meet at the entrance to Myrtle Edwards.

We will ride along Alaska way, probably skipping the bike path because it sucks. Once we make it down to Spokane street, we will pick up the bike path, and ride on that until we reach Harbor avenue, at which point we'll pick up the path to Alki. The plan is to ride out to the park at the end of Alki, take a break (probably including beer at the Celtic Swell, or somewhere else, kids beware!), and then ride back to Downtown/Myrtle Edwards.

Total round trip, according to Gmaps Pedometer, is about 16 miles, and is one of the flattest routes I can find in Seattle: This is designed to be an easy, fun, Sunday ride.

We are riding out and back: on street parking is available downtown and on Alaska way, and since it's Sunday, it's FREE!

Please let me know if you're coming. Also, we start on time (12:15), so if you aren't able to make it to Myrtle Edwards, you can meet us at Seacrest Park or anywhere else along the way.

It will probably be dry on Sunday, but this is March, in Seattle. Please be prepared and wear appropriate clothes.  I suggest
you bring a backpack and some water and some candy bars, and a jacket  you can put on when you stop. Hope to see you on Sunday!

Cheers!
Eric
